Working for a Just Clean Energy Transition

We are focused on the intersection of environmental injustice and climate change.

We're passionate about the just distribution of the benefits of climate protection efforts and alleviating the historic burdens impacting communities through research, policy, and community engagement.

Areas of Practice

Environmental Injustice Research, Analysis, Collaboration, and Community Engagement

  • Conduct research and analysis regarding challenges, barriers, and potential solutions related to historic inequities, especially in environmental justice communities.

  • This research provides data, analysis, and recommendations to inform policies and best practices to promote healthy communities, especially environmental justice communities.

Truly Just Clean Energy Transition Research, Analysis, Collaboration

  • Conduct research and analysis at the intersection of environmental injustice and the clean energy transition to address climate change with the goal of identifying common ground, collaboration, and solutions.

  • This research provides data, analysis, and recommendations for policies and strategies to enable equitable collaboration among environmental justice and climate advocates and stakeholders.

Digital Media Development for Environmental Justice

  • Develop digital media tools, such as software tools and videos, to highlight barriers and changes that communities and community organizations face and promote public awareness and action for solutions to environmental justice challenges and the impacts of climate change.

  • These tools will empower a wide range of physical and virtual communities to organize and engage effectively with community leaders and residents, environmental justice and climate advocates, relevant policy experts, federal and state agencies, philanthropic organizations, and other stakeholders.

“Environmental injustice is an existential threat to many communities. Climate change is an existential threat to all communities. It is time to recognize our common ground and work together.”

Jeanette Pablo, CEO, Climate Equity Foundation
